MMA News – Mixed Martial Arts – UFC, Bellator, ONE, BAMMA… I used to be a boxing man, both in life and as a spectator. Boxing as a sport just seems to have lost most, if not all panache it once had. The glory days of boxing for me where the Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins & Barry McGuigan days. So… I began watching local fighter Martin Stapleton (current BAMMA Lightweight Champion) after I’d heard rumblings of his name in 2012. Since then and at around the same time I latched on to Conor McGregor, the first fight of his I watched being against Dave Hill.
So… Although the sport really has western roots from around 1993, I’m still very much the newcomer to the sport I have come to love over the last few years. Fighters that I follow with intrigue for the moment would of course be Conor McGregor (No shame from me on that one!) Of course Martin Stapleton & Saul Rogers (Local lads.) Demetrious Johnson, Michael Page, Gunnar Nelson and I’m excited to see what Dylan Tuke can do in BAMMA (actually just signed today). There are many others of course, and this is one of the reasons I’ve fallen for MMA, so many fighters, so little room for error, so much opportunity. The natural progression and evolution of this sport fascinates me and I’m drawn to it in a way I haven’t been to anything else for many years.
MMA News unfortunately won’t bring you daily posts and updates, the only thing I can promise is what I do bring will be worthy of a quick read.
